About Us

High Country Horses operate on Rees Valley Station, which is rated one of the area's most scenic places to ride.

This 37,000-acre sheep station borders the World Heritage Mt Aspiring National Park, where some of New Zealand's most famous walking tracks depart from. We cater for all riders from the complete beginner through to the very experienced. We ensure that complete instruction is given prior to depature. Our small group approach ensures that riding with us gives you the best possible experience as the guide is given more of an opportunity to interact with riders individually and can ensure enjoyment and safety for everyone. Our horses are well cared for by our friendly kiwi guides. Your ride with us is a chance to experience our stunning environment at close quarters. Get away from it all and come experience the unique tranquility of the Rees Valley, north of the Glenorchy Township.
